Parking Video Library

Iran, Tehran

Despite the closure of Parkingallery Projects’ gallery space in 2014, which was founded in 1998 by art students in Tehran, the archive for the independent platform and project space remains active. Launched in 2004 following the successful mega project “deep depression,” the video archive for Iranian and international artists is dedicated to collecting, preserving, and updating artworks in the unique areas of new media practices, sound, performance, and interactive works. Supplemented by its growing success, the archive serves educational and noncommercial purposes and promotes its works through screenings, artist/expert talks, and international and domestic exhibitions. The founders aspire to maintain the archive by exchanging works with institutions and collections around the world.
