Ekaterina Bodyagina is a freelance journalist and photographer. Since the full-scale Russian invasion in Ukraine in 2022, she has been reporting on its consequences. She has reported for the New York Times, Welt am Sonntag, Süddeutsche Zeitung Jetzt and Business Insider, among others. Since 2013 she has been working as a journalist with a focus on social issues such as gender-based violence and exclusion. She grew up in Moscow and lives in Berlin since 2015.
