Persbook Annual of Contemporary Art was initiated by visual artist Neda Darzi in 2009 as an open and participatory platform and has continued to run its annual exhibitions and events in different cities across Iran ever since. From the very beginning, Persbook has fostered collaborations with numerous artists, critics, and researchers on an annual basis, serving as a platform for the introduction and support of many young and emerging artists. Over the years, different curators were invited to collaborate, and the event’s venues expanded from Tehran to other cities and regions. With this gradual evolution, environmental concerns gained more prominence in the events, ultimately becoming Persbook’s primary focus. This year in October, Persbook will launch its twelfth Annual of Contemporary Art event.
