Pearling Path

Bahrain, Muharraq

The Pearling Path in Muharraq, Bahrain, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that traces the legacy of the island's historic pearling industry. Spanning 3.5 kilometers, it connects 17 restored buildings, three offshore oyster beds, and the Bu Maher Fort, illustrating the socio-economic fabric shaped by pearling from the 2nd century to the 1930s. The path integrates traditional architecture with contemporary design, featuring public squares, cultural venues, and distinctive pearl-inspired streetlamps. This open-air museum offers an immersive journey through Bahrain's maritime heritage and its enduring cultural identity.
