The Kurdish Culture and Research Foundation (KÜRT-KAV), founded in Istanbul in 1992, is Turkey’s first officially registered Kurdish cultural organization. It promotes Kurdish language, art, history, and rights through research, seminars, panels, and cultural events like Newroz celebrations. KÜRT-KAV supports artists and scholars with awards, scholarships, and publications, while working to preserve Kurdish heritage via archives, libraries, and museums. Non-political in nature, the foundation plays a key role in advancing Kurdish cultural identity and awareness within Turkey.
