The Royal Society of Fine Arts, established in Amman in 1979, is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting cultural diversity and the dissemination of artistic knowledge and promotes contemporary art from Jordan and the Arab and developing worlds. 1980, the Royal Society founded the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts, the first museum of its kind in the region. The gallery houses a distinguished collection of over 3,000 works, including drawings, paintings, sculptures, ceramics, video art, installations, graphic arts, and photography. These works represent artists from Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Arab world, making the National Gallery one of the major art museums in the Middle East.
