Helia Darabi is an art historian based in Tehran. In her research, writing and curatorial activities, she focusses on contemporary Iranian art. Since the early 2000s, she has regularly published essays and reviews in newspapers and magazines in Iran; contributed to numerous exhibition catalogues and books; been involved in translating art historical texts from English into Farsi; and curated exhibitions with Iranian artists also internationally. Darabi holds a PhD in Art Research from the University of Art, Tehran, where she acts as a guest lecturer since 2006. She has been invited and has contributed to international conferences among others in Germany and the UK.
