Behrang Samadzadegan

Iran, Tehran

Behrang Samadzadegan (born 1979 in Tehran) learned the basics of art at a very young age. In his painting, he seeks to explore the possibility (or impossibility) of representing truth, identity and history within the framework of aesthetic laws, and to question the ability of the image to represent these concepts. Samadzadegan received his BFA from Tehran University of Arts in 2000 and his MFA from Tehran Tarbiat Modares University in 2007. Since 2004, he has lectured on art theory and held workshops at Sooreh University, Tehran University of Art, Aria Art Institute and Mahe Mehr Cultural Art Institute. In 2015, he spent a semester as a visiting artist at the Cleveland Institute of Art. In 2022, he curated the exhibition “Minimalism and Conceptual Art in the Mid-20th Century” at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (Tehran MOCA).
