The Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum, established in 1967, is the world’s first specialized museum dedicated to carpets. Its mission is to preserve and showcase Azerbaijani carpets as vital elements of national heritage. Originally housed in the Juma Mosque in Icherisheher, it relocated to a modern building in Baku’s Seaside National Park in 2014. The museum’s rich collection spans centuries, highlighting the art, history, and cultural significance of Azerbaijani carpets. It actively organizes exhibitions, international symposiums, and educational programs while collaborating with global cultural institutions. Recognized by UNESCO, it remains a beacon for Azerbaijan’s carpet art and cultural heritage.
