Founded in 2007 by Arab cultural activists, AFAC supports artists, writers, researchers, and organizations across the Arab region and globally who work in the fields of arts and culture. Since its launch, AFAC’s programs have steadily expanded to cover cinema, photography, visual and performing arts, creative and critical writings, music, and documentary film, in addition to funding research, training, and cultural events. Based in Beirut, AFAC fosters a vibrant cultural scene that reflects the region’s complexities and transformations. It promotes new artistic visions, explores marginalized narratives, and connects Arab societies with their diasporas. AFAC also encourages civic engagement and dialogue through diverse cultural and artistic initiatives.
