The Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (TMOCA) is one of the largest and most important modern art museums in Iran. The TMOCA features collections with several thousand items, including a considerable amount of European and American modern art pieces, and a representative collection of Iranian modern and contemporary art. The acclaimed Iranian architect Kamran Diba designed the building itself with an exterior design that resembles the traditional wind catchers that are found in Iranian desert cities and an interior that is akin to that of the Guggenheim Museum of New York.
