Sinopale is Türkiye’s pioneering citizen-led biennial, launched in 2006 in the historic Black Sea port of Sinop, weaving contemporary art into the city’s layered urban and natural fabric. The 9th edition, themed “Before All Runs Out: Cosmos of New Values,” probes ecological urgencies and social transformations through site-responsive installations, performances, and communal workshops. As a grassroots curatorial model, Sinopale activates overlooked spaces, from ancient prisons to coastal edges, fostering dialogue between local voices and international artists while reimagining collective futures.
