Pegah Keshmirshekan, born in 1996 in Iran, is currently working in Berlin and London. The key question that she explores in her artistic practice is how collective identities contribute to the formation of one’s personhood in our globalized world. Through documentation of events in her videos, sound works, installations, and paintings, she addresses how imaginary pictures and fictional imagery are shaped through experiences of displacement and detachment. She has exhibited her works in several shows such as in the Museum of Photography, Berlin, 2018 and Gallery O, Tehran, 2022. She was awarded the Schulz Stübner Prize in 2023.
