The Museum of Azerbaijani Painting of the XX-XXI Centuries, located near the National Flag Square in Baku, was inaugurated in June 2015 under the patronage of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Its opening was led by President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva. The museum showcases a rich collection of works by renowned and emerging Azerbaijani artists, sourced from the National Picture Gallery, Museum of Modern Art, and other institutions. From 2018, YARAT Contemporary Art Space began curating exhibitions and public programs for the museum, fostering a vibrant cultural dialogue. This museum stands as a key venue for exploring Azerbaijan’s modern artistic legacy and its connections to global art movements.
