Mizna, a non-profit contemporary arts organization based in St. Paul, Minnesota, is dedicated to supporting experimental and thought-provoking work by Arab, Southwest Asian, and North African (SWANA) artists, writers, and filmmakers. Established in 1999 by Kathryn Haddad and Saleh Abudayyeh, Mizna publishes a biannual literary and art journal, organizes the Twin Cities Arab Film Festival—the largest and longest-running SWANA-focused film festival in the Midwest—and hosts readings, exhibitions, performances, and community events. Mizna provides a crucial platform for SWANA voices, encouraging dialogue, cultural exchange, and artistic innovation in the U.S. and beyond.
