Masoud Olia is assistant professor in the Department of Philosophy of Art, University of Art, Tehran, where he has been faculty member since 2011. His teaching and research area is focused on aesthetics, phenomenology, phenomenology of Art, and ethics. He has translated major philosophical texts into Persian, including Hannah Arendt’s The Life of the Mind (2015) and The Human Condition (2014), Emmanuel Levinas’s From Existence to Existents (2014), Herbert Spiegelberg’s The Phenomenological Movement (2013) and John Dewey’s Art as Experience (2005). His book on Emmanuel Levinas titled Discovering the Other with Levinas (in Persian, 2009) together with his articles and translations had a major role in introducing Emmanuel Levinas to Iranian intellectual scene.
