Mahsa Mohammadi (b. 1991) is a visual artist, writer, and translator with a degree in painting from the University of Tehran. Her art, deeply inspired by poetry and shaped by her experiences as a woman, has increasingly focused on abstraction over the past two years. At the center of her work is the theme of self-portraiture, through which she explores other themes such as freedom, memory, and ontology in a joyful and playful tone. Mohammadi had two solo exhibitions in Tehran, “This Pale Tear with the Iridescent Reflections of Opal” at 009821 Projects in 2021 and “Dream of the Dead” at Delgosha Gallery in 2017. Her work has been included in various group exhibitions. She currently lives and works in her hometown of Tehran.
