L’École de Casablanca, or the Casablanca Art School, is the focus of the "School of Casablanca" project in Berlin, a collaboration between ifa-Galerie Berlin, KW Institute for Contemporary Art, and ThinkArt (Casablanca). This initiative revisits the school’s pivotal role in shaping modern art in Morocco after independence in 1956, emphasizing a new civic and cultural identity rooted in indigenous traditions and modernist ideas inspired by the Bauhaus. The Berlin exhibition (2024) presents contemporary works and archival materials, reflecting on the school’s experimental pedagogy, collective learning, and its influence on art, design, and society.
