HIAP – Helsinki International Artist Programme, established in 1998, is an international residency organization based in Helsinki, Finland. It offers residencies for artists, curators, and cultural practitioners across various disciplines, focusing on visual arts but also encompassing fields like dance, literature, and music. Residencies are hosted at two main locations: Suomenlinna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Cable Factory cultural complex. The program emphasizes open-ended research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and engagement with the local art scene. Residents are selected through open calls and partnerships, with opportunities to present work-in-progress during Open Studios events.
