Hasan Noori is an Afghan filmmaker born in Iran in 1985 to Afghan refugee parents. He studied sociology and holds a Master’s degree in Cinema from Tehran University. He has also worked as a social assistant for NGOs addressing child labor, primarily supporting Afghan refugee children. His feature-length documentary The Forbidden Strings (2019) has been screened at over thirty international film festivals, and has received numerous awards, including Best Director at the Lajward Kabul Film Festival. Noori is currently based in Iran and is working on his next documentary, The Songs of My Land.
