The Fire Station in Doha is a dynamic contemporary art space and residency hub housed in a repurposed 1982 civil defense building. Central to its mission is the nine-month Artist in Residence (AIR) program, which supports emerging Qatari and international artists with studio space, mentorship, and exhibition opportunities. The Garage Gallery, a 700 sqm exhibition space, has showcased works by renowned artists such as Ai Weiwei, KAWS, and Picasso, alongside AIR participants. The Fire Station also engages the community through inclusive initiatives like the “Friends & More” exhibition as well as highlighting artworks by individuals with disabilities.
