Esmaeil Pirhadi holds a master’s in ethnomusicology, engaging in playing, composing, and instrument-building for Iranian and non-Iranian artists. While teaching at the university, his notable contribution involves dedicating efforts to music therapy for autistic children, presented at Stanford University. Groundbreaking research for his thesis produced 13 new setar tunes. Alongside his interests in women’s voices, acculturation in performance, and cultural influences, Pirhadi is currently immersed in cultural studies at Heinrich Boll’s Residence near Cologne.
