Darat al Funun, founded in 1988, is a pivotal platform dedicated to contemporary Arab artists. It offers a space to support artistic practices, foster exchange, stimulate critical discourse, and document Arab art. Located in six renovated historical buildings and a restored archaeological site, it organizes exhibitions that explore contemporary Arab art, new media, and pieces from The Khalid Shoman Collection. Additionally, Darat al Funun hosts talks, performances, and film screenings. Its program also includes workshops in fields like new media, photography, and music, engaging youth through school exhibitions and educational activities.
