CURRENT – KUNST UND URBANER RAUM is a transdisciplinary festival for art in urban space in Stuttgart. Operating at the intersections of art and the engagement with urban space, the festival develops exemplary formats to experimentally explore artistic forms, strategies, and practices in the context of the city. It aims to integrate artistic perspectives into urban development processes in the long term. The festival was founded by Laura Bernhardt in 2020 and is a project of the non-profit organization Art Public Space – Culture Matters. The festival has been supported since 2022 as part of the newly developed program for Art in Public Space by the city of Stuttgart.
