Collective for Black Iranians (CBI) is a production hub for culture, as well as a creative agency specializing in critically conscious storytelling. It produces music, films, oral stories, and histories at the intersection of Black/African and Iranian identities, challenging racial erasure through culture. Founded in 2020 by Priscillia Kounkou Hoveyda, whose painful childhood experiences as a little Black Iranian girl in Iran shaped its mission, the Collective initially focused on breaking silences and education. Today, it continues to sustain cultural production through music, art, and film, serving as a vital hub for representation and creative expression.
