Since its establishment in 2001, Akkad Art Gallery has become one of the prominent art exhibition halls in the Iraqi art scene. It has presented many activities through group and personal exhibitions, providing something for the artistic tastes of everyone. Due to the difficult security and economic conditions, the gallery closed for more than seven years until the end of 2021 when its founder, Haider Hashem, re-opened the gallery in Karada District. The reopening was held in the presence of a large audience of plastic artists and was an attempt to restore cultural and artistic life to the regions of Iraq and especially to Baghdad. The gallery has a collection of works by different local Iraqi artists which it presents alongside new emerging talent.
