On view until August 06: In “Out of Season”, Shirin Sabahi presents a series of site-specific interventions and sculptures that relate to the motif of a garden. The garden is taken on as a place of contradiction – as a borderland between rationality and speculation, between utopia and dystopia. Sabahi’s garden evokes a time out of joint, in which plants and species live on only as effigies, and in that the supposed place of refuge is countered by its transience, artificiality, and commodification.

On view until August 27: The group exhibtion with contemporary photographs by German and Iranian women photographers who deal with questions of self-determination in the field of tension between tradition and modernity. All five participating artists live in Iran, come from Iran or have worked there for a long time. Whether on site or from a (safe) distance: their own experiences, history, family stories and the situation of other women in the country are the starting point for their photographic and video works.
