mohit.art is pleased to announce that A Selection of Photobooks from Deutscher Fotobuchpreis (German Photobook Award) has travelled to Kerman and Sirjan, continues to travel to Yazd, and possibly further cities in Iran. Khaneye_Ma Art Residency was hosting the exhibition This Is Not a Suitcase, curated and organized by Mohamad Khezri Moghadam, founder of Khaneye_Ma Art Residency. The presentation of the photobooks at the recently renovated traditional building in Kerman was accompanied by video statements from the artists on their works. The public was invited to spend time in the beautiful art space and to closely examine the photobooks on display.
Artist and art book expert Hedieh Ahmadi (organizer of the BAZAR Art Book Fair) held a two-day workshop on May 25-26, 2022, where participants were invited to examine the art- and photobook as an artistic medium. Ahmadi provided insights into the process of art book production and publication. The workshop took also place at Baten Art Gallery, Sirjan, on May 27-28, 2022, and will take place another time in Yazd in the frame of the exhibition at Padiav Home.
With This Is Not a Suitcase, Khaneye-Ma Art Residency and Baten Art Gallery were the third and fourth venues in Iran to show A Selection of Photobooks from Deutscher Fotobuchpreis 2021/22 — the award was established already around 50 years ago as a tribute to the important role of the medium photobook. The suitcase will continue to travel to Padiav Home, Yazd, and possibly further cities in Iran. mohit.art is honored by the invitation of Hasht Cheshmeh Art Space, Kashan; Emkan Gallery, Tehran; Khaneye_Ma Art Residency, Kerman; Baten Art Gallery, Sirjan; and Padiav Home, Yazd, to present photobooks from Germany and Europe in Iran.
