Mahsa Mohammadi, born in 1991 in Tehran, is a visual artist, translator, and writer. She studied painting at University of Tehran. In the initial stages of her career, she explored themes of death, sorrow, absence, and the dialectic of ruin and birth. As of 2022, she has incorporated abstraction into her artistic endeavors. Mohammadi primarily focuses on painting and drawing as her medium of choice, though she has also experimented with sculpture. Her art is heavily inspired by poetry and her lived experience as a woman, which she explores through a free and experimental approach. In 2021, Mohammadi exhibited her work at 009821 Projects and, in 2017, at Delgosha Gallery, both located in Tehran. Additionally, her work was featured in various group shows in Tehran.
